Let me take you on a journey of self-discovery. Together, we’ll explore ways to foster a mindset that embraces creativity for life.
Think of me as your personal trainer for getting your creative mojo back on track.
Alrighty then, as any personal trainer worth their tight-fitting tank top will tell you, the first pro tip is to embrace the idea that where you’re starting from doesn’t matter.
Pro Tip 1:
What matters is where you’re going, not where you’ve been.
Seeing how this is the first post in a 6-part series, it makes sense to start with giving yourself permission.
And so, our subject today is about finding joy in your becoming. I’ll share ideas about manifesting, planning, and why we want what we want - all through the lens of creativity and play.
I’m pulling ideas from my Freehand Mandala Play Time workshop’s workbook. You can find out more about my workshop at this link:

In my creativity workshops, I love combining playful art-making with powerful mindset ideas. And here’s the thing: I want to give everyone permission to play in the easiest possible way.
Because your creativity matters.
• One insightful moment of creative play can dissolve years of resistance, giving you newfound energy
• The fun you have with your creative side spills over into all parts of your life
• Igniting your creative spark gives you fresh eyes to try new things and make meaningful changes
Enough said, let’s dive in!

Part 1. A word about manifesting.
I’m sure you’ve heard a lot about manifesting - it’s everywhere online, don’t ya know. But here’s what often gets missed:
The real objective of manifesting is not to get all the things you want.
Say what?
Nope. The real objective is to focus your attention on who you’re becoming in the process of getting what you want.
And when I say “who you’re becoming,” I mean your Future Fab Self.
Here’s the deal: you’re on a journey of personal transformation.
All those things you want? You only want them because it’s fun to become the kind of person who’s on the way to them.
Whoa, right?
We love the process of making our dreams come true even more than the moment we reach them. I mean, most of us don’t even pause to celebrate. We just set our sights on the next big dream and off we go.
So, here’s my point:
Your joy, your fun, your love for life - it’s all in your becoming.
It’s the process of becoming, the journey, that thrills us and makes us feel grateful to be alive. Getting what you want is just the icing on the cake.
The cake is waking up every day feeling excited about what’s possible for you.

Part 2. A word about planning.
Now, let’s talk about planning. Yep, another topic where I like to color outside the lines.
First, the obvious: there are no perfect plans.
Unless you live in a bubble with infinite resources at your disposal, life will mess up your perfect plans. Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you stories of things going sideways that ended up being blessings in disguise.
The message here is to be open to changing your plans after you make them. You make a plan to find clarity, then you shift and adapt as needed. But here’s the part that gets overlooked:
The sole purpose of making plans is to get excited about your future.
Planning gives you clarity. But it’s your excitement that moves you forward to the life you want.
Your excitement is the emotion driving your actions.

Part 3. Why we want what we want.
Everything we want to do, improve, or change comes down to one simple truth:
We want it because we think it will make us feel good.
So we buy the thing. We set the goal. We make the plan. But if we’re not intentional about how we wanna feel in the process, we focus purely on results. And that’s where we trip ourselves up.
Why?
Because it’s too easy to equate our worthiness with our results.
And that means we put our joy on hold.
Here’s the truth bomb:
You can feel good before changing your habits, before reaching your goals, or before doing anything else.
This is such a huge reframe when it comes to creating the life you want.
Because it means you don’t have to earn your worthiness. You can feel good today.
You’re already worthy of feeling good right now.
Conclusion: Free yourself from putting your joy on hold.
We’re all in the process of making a beautiful life. Take a moment to notice one thing you’ve been wishing for. Instead of focusing only on the outcome, imagine how it will feel along the way. Each small step toward it is a creative act.
Here’s your reminder to trust in the process:
• Even just a few minutes of creative play can reset your energy and remind you that your creativity matters.
• The real objective of manifesting is to focus on who you’re becoming in the process of getting what you want.
• The purpose of planning is to get excited about your future because excitement fuels action.
• Everything you want is tied to how you think it will make you feel.
• There’s no finish line to getting what you want. It’s the process of growth that makes life inspiring.
• You can feel good before changing your habits, before reaching your goals, or before doing anything else.
• You don’t need to wait until you feel more ready. You can feel and act like your Future Fab Self today.
Permission to feel and act like your future self today.

Your Future Fab Self isn’t waiting at the finish line, don’t ya know. She’s doodling in the margins, coloring outside the lines, and playing along the way.
And one last thought: it’s perfectly okay to feel like you don’t know what you’re doing. All you need is one tiny step you can take action on today.
Because that one tiny action is enough to keep your creative spark alive.
Try this:
Take one tiny play break today. Doodle. Dance. Sing. Scribble. And notice how that creative spark shifts your energy. Yay!
And if you’re ready to step into your most creative life, you don’t have to do it alone. I’d love to walk with you.
